Prenatal Massage in Pacific Beach

Pregnancy places extraordinary demands on the body — shifting posture, added weight, hormonal changes, and the emotional weight of preparing for a new life. Prenatal massage is one of the most effective and underutilized tools available to expectant mothers for managing pain, reducing stress, improving sleep, and staying connected to their body throughout pregnancy. At PB Therapeutic Massage, we offer safe, skilled prenatal massage at every stage of pregnancy in a warm, supportive environment designed to make you feel completely taken care of.

  • Prenatal massage requires more than just knowing where not to press. It requires a therapist who understands the physiological changes of pregnancy, how posture and pain patterns shift trimester by trimester, and how to create an environment where an expectant mother feels genuinely safe and cared for. Estrella is our primary prenatal specialist and brings exceptional nurturing presence, deep body knowledge, and trauma-informed awareness to every session. We use a specialized pregnancy pillow that allows you to lie face-down comfortably on the table — a relief most pregnant clients haven't experienced in months. Every session is fully adapted to your trimester, comfort level, and specific areas of concern.

    • Low back pain and sacral pressure

    • Hip pain and sciatic nerve discomfort

    • Swollen legs, ankles, and feet

    • Neck and upper shoulder tension

    • Round ligament discomfort

    • Rib and thoracic tightness as the belly grows

    • Headaches and tension from postural shifts

    • Stress, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping

    • General fatigue and body heaviness

    • Postural strain from carrying additional weight

    • Intake and assessment — your therapist reviews your trimester, any pregnancy complications, and your OB or midwife's clearance if applicable

    • Positioning — you are comfortably supported using our specialized pregnancy pillow and bolsters, allowing face-down positioning that is safe and deeply relieving

    • Full-body prenatal massage — adapted pressure and techniques targeting the areas of greatest discomfort, with careful attention to contraindicated areas and positions

    • Focused relief work — specific attention to low back, hips, legs, and shoulders where pregnancy tension concentrates most

    • Closing and aftercare — gentle transition off the table, hydration guidance, and frequency recommendations based on your stage of pregnancy

  • You are pregnant at any stage and experiencing physical discomfort, stress, or simply want to give your body the care it deserves during this time. First-time mothers and experienced mothers alike find prenatal massage profoundly supportive throughout pregnancy. Not for: Clients with high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor risk, or other pregnancy complications should obtain clearance from their OB or midwife before booking. Always inform us of your full pregnancy history and any complications so we can ensure your session is completely safe.

  • New Client Intro Session 60 Min — $79 | 90 Min — $109 | 120 Min — $139

    Standard Rates 60 Min — $105 | 90 Min — $155 | 120 Min — $205

    Membership Rates 60 Min — $90 | 90 Min — $130 | 120 Min — $175

Members also receive 15% off all additional sessions booked that month.

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Hydrate well. Bring any notes from your OB or midwife if they have specific recommendations. Arrive a few minutes early so your therapist has time to position you comfortably before the session begins. After: Rest as much as possible following your session. Drink plenty of water. Some clients experience deeper fatigue after prenatal massage as the body integrates the work — this is normal and a sign your nervous system is responding. Light walking is encouraged. Avoid strenuous activity the same day.

  • Prenatal massage is contraindicated for clients with high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, deep vein thrombosis, placenta previa, or active preterm labor. We do not perform deep abdominal work or use certain acupressure points known to stimulate contractions. If you have any pregnancy complications or concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before booking and inform your therapist of your full history at intake. Your safety and your baby's safety are our first priority.

    • Advanced Pain Relief Massage: For postpartum clients returning to bodywork after delivery — deep tissue and myofascial release to address the structural changes and tension patterns that develop during and after pregnancy.

    • Athletic Recovery & Performance Massage: For postpartum clients who are returning to training and need recovery-focused bodywork as their body rebuilds strength and mobility.

    • Nervous System Reset Massage: Pregnancy and new parenthood place enormous demands on the nervous system. A reset session is ideal during pregnancy for stress, anxiety, and sleep support, and postpartum for nervous system restoration after birth.
